Wondering how to install a WordPress plugin? In this video, I’ll show you the two easiest ways to do it.
The first way is to go to the plugin page – usually that is on the WordPress.org website – and download the plugin to your computer. Save it somewhere you can find it again.
Then when you are ready to install the plugin, go to your WordPress dashboard, go to plugins, then click to Add New plugin. On the Add New screen, click Upload to upload your plugin. Then Browse to find the plugin file on your computer.
make sure the file is in .zip format (meaning the name of the file is “plugin-name.zip”. Sometimes, on Mac’s, during the download, the file will get “unzipped” before it is saved to your computer. If that’s the case, then you can use method 2 for installing a plugin:
Method 2 is the easiest way to install a WordPress plugin. In this method, all you have to do is log in to your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins, then click Add New. Now on the right side of the screen, you can search for the plugin you want. When you find it, click to open the plugin screen and then click to Install the plugin.
In either case, whether you follow method 1 or 2 for installing a WordPress plugin, make sure you Activate the plugin after it is installed.
